Remediation Services in Alberta
Remediation (formerly known as Phase III ESA) is the cleanup of contaminated material identified by the Phase II ESA through several ways such as:
-
Excavation and removal of contaminated material, followed by the sampling of the walls and base to confirm that the contaminated soil has been removed. Next, clean fill material is brought to the site to backfill the dig and recontoured to match the existing grade.
-
Injection of chemical compounds or microbial slurries to react with the contaminants of potential concern (COPC) and break them down into non-harmful components.
-
Extracting harmful vapours from monitoring wells at the Site, assisting in the degradation of the COPC.
-
Long-term monitoring of groundwater at the Site, to track and compare concentrations of COPC over an extended period of time.

Soil Sampling/Test Pitting
Do you have an area that you think may be contaminated and need it cleaned up quickly and cost-effectively?
Vista will perform a delineation program by advancing boreholes using a drill rig or hand auger to accurately map the vertical and horizontal extent of the plume and then remove the contaminated material from the Site for disposal.
Following removal, Vista will source clean fill material to fill the pit back and recontour it to match the surrounding grade.
Groundwater Monitoring/Sampling
Have Vista sample your storm pond, drainage ditch, or existing groundwater monitoring wells to set a baseline for the concentration of COPC.
